Like Noung Gu Lhao, Jue Lee and Por Ju, many children in Lao PDR are not going to school; they are not able to read or write, neither are they able to develop life skills necessary for socialising with friends of their own age. They are not prepared for a better future for themselves and their families

The BEQUAL NGO Consortium, with the support of the Australian Government and the European Union is working collaboratively with the Lao Government and communities to provide small grants of up to 4,000,000 KIP in 171 remote villages to help more children attend school and learn.

The grants are dedicated to activities that can best support disadvantaged children to access and participate in learning and stay in school. The project activities are led and implemented by Village Education Development Committees.

Every girl and boy has the right to a quality education so that they can have more opportunities in life. The BEQUAL Program, in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR is helping an estimated 450,000 children to access a better quality education between 2015 and 2019.
